Born and raised in rural Cambridgeshire, I developed a passion for the natural world and a keen eye for detail from an early age. After earning a distinction in Technical Illustration, I pursued a BA(Hons) in Scientific and Natural History Illustration in Lancashire, deepening my fascination with hyper-realism and field studies.
A placement on the BA(Hons) Illustration course in Cornwall allowed me to follow my dreams in an inspiring setting, culminating in my degree while maintaining a steady flow of commissions. By age 21, my work was published in New York.
I was proud to become the first female Scientific and Natural History Illustrator represented by the Wildlife Art Company, founded by zoologist and TV presenter Mark Carwardine, which later became the world’s largest agency of its kind. My commissioned works have since included projects for the Royal College of Physicians, TOAST, McGraw Hill, the Eden Project, and Twitter.
In 2018, I was awarded a Gold Medal by the RHS for my exhibition Medicinal Plants and their Symbiosis with Pollinators at the Botanical Art Show in London.
